About Us

REEF Associates Ltd is a leading specialist consultancy in the field of Façade Access & Maintenance, with extensive industry experience. Established nearly 30 years ago, REEF was one of the first Façade Access & Maintenance consultancies in the UK and worldwide.

REEF is unique and unrivalled in the depth of technical knowledge and experience contained in-house to respond authoritatively and to fully detail and coordinate an access strategy without reliance on the industry for support. Advice is provided by the Directors, who have a combined technical experience of over 100 years in the façade access industry.

As building designs become increasingly complex and the need for effective external maintenance grows, specialised knowledge and understanding of all available access solutions are essential. SOME OF OUR PROJECTS

Meet Our Directors

Bruce Jones

Director

Since graduating with an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bruce developed extensive experience in the Technical and Managerial aspects of complex Mechanical Handling Projects with the major portion being in association with the construction industry.

From being the Senior Mechanical Engineer in the construction teams of Heathrow Terminal 4, followed by the North Terminal Gatwick led to becoming the Group Director of the primary supplier of Suspended Access equipment in the UK.

A desire to establish a consultancy in Façade Access led to forming the UK division of Lerch Bates and subsequently forming an independent consultancy, REEF Associates, with Chris
in 1998.

Chris Whyte

Director

Chris began his career at the primary supplier of Suspended Access equipment in the UK in 1990, where he met Bruce. Initially joining as a Projects Manager, he progressed to the role of Contracts Manager. In 1995, he moved to the consultancy firm Lerch Bates to help
establish and develop the Façade Access division alongside Bruce, who had joined the company earlier.

In 1998, Chris and Bruce left Lerch Bates to co-found REEF Associates Ltd., a specialist consultancy focused on Façade Access. Over the years, Chris has contributed to a wide range of high-profile projects, including The Shard in London, The Landmark Building in Abu Dhabi, and the Port Baku 2 Tower in Azerbaijan. He has also worked extensively with Canary Wharf Contractors on major developments such as Phase 2 of the Wharf, Wood Wharf, and Southbank Place.

Andy Jordan

Director

Andy has been part of the Façade Access industry for nearly 40 years, beginning his career with one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and installers of façade access equipment. In this role, he contributed to projects across the UK, Middle East, and Asia. Starting in the design department, Andy went on to take responsibility for the development and delivery of bespoke access solutions tailored to a wide range of complex projects. Through this, he gained extensive experience in safe access, working at height, and the practical methods required to achieve reliable and compliant solutions.

In 2006, Andy joined Bruce and Chris at REEF, bringing his expertise to the consultancy side of the industry. Since then, he has played a key role in providing design advice and access strategies for REEF’s diverse portfolio of clients and projects.
